Project

So my project is coming along nicely right now, I've nearly finished my final pieces all I need to do is create some screenshot looking images and a game map to go with the front covers I've made. After I've finished the final pieces I will then proceed to finish my paper work and research pages.

These are my front covers I've created for the game:

What I Did Over Easter

During the Easter break I had, I took a lot of imagery that I can use for my project and draw inspiration from as well as use some of the imagery for the final piece.

First Day Back, Some Inspiration

So on the first day back I decided to go on the internet to do some more research on riots and what the aftermath of them look like for my project.

Today's Plan

So last week I forgot to update my plan, basically I did some more research for my 3D project then did my self evaluation for my 2D and animation projects.

In today's sessions I'll be gathering up my work and organising it and also working on my 3D project.

Friday 4 March 2016

Today's Plan

So in today's sessions I'm going to create templates and ideas for my 3D project then do some research for it.

Thursday 3 March 2016

Today's Plan

In today's lessons I will be carrying on creating more research pages until I finish them then I'll move on to adding annotations to my work and if I finish that I'll move onto working on my 3D project.

So at the end of the day I had completed all the research pages I had liked to and did some annotation, I won't be able to finish them until I finish my 3D so once I do that I'll be able to return to the annotations and finish my work.

Personal Logo Research

RealKraftyy's logo is a bowl that has a pair of scissors in it with a beard and shutter shades. The bowl with the scissors represents a "Bowl Cut" which is a very odd hairstyle that he had done when he reach his first subscriber goal on Twitch, the beard is there because that's one of his main features and the shutter shades are an accessory he uses for special stream events. I like this logo as it combines characteristics and objects that make up Kraftyy and displays them as a clean logo.

VanossGaming's logo is very simple and bold and that's what I really like about it, he takes his channel name initial's then puts them in black and white bold print with some editing and it's clear and simple, another reason I like it is that it looks professional and clear.

Skrillex's logo is very good as there is plenty to it, the jagged rough text is used as he is a Dubstep artist which is based around heavy and jagged music, the I and two L's are highlighted red because he used that as his logo for many things and it's what he's recognised by on clothing & items etc. I really like this logo as it represents the type of person he is and what he does for a living and it's also a very nice and clean design which is easy to understand and still looks professional, it is also a universal logo as he can use all the text for banners, clothes, CD cases etc. but he can also just use the I & two L's for everything as well.

Today's Plan

Today in college I am going to create research pages and annotation pages based on artists and my own work for pretty much the entire day, if I finish earlier then I will continue to do my 3D side of my project.

So at the end of the day I had done a few research pages, I didn't finish quite as many as would have liked to have done but I got a good amount done nonetheless. I think what took up some time is me making my pages lay out as best I could and getting the typography how I like it.

Gill's sessions

In Gill' sessions so far I have been practicing with mixing inks of various colours to get more colours that look unique. I want to use coloured inks in various ways to get more and more results to use in my project.

I really like this idea of dripping ink into a body of water and video it as it goes in as it creates a really cool cloud effect.
This is the style of ink splatter I've been using so far to get good effects and colours, I like it's simplicity and effectiveness.

Research For My Story 2

I did some more pinning on my pinterest and found these amazing images full of inspiration and ideas for myself.

So far I'm really liking the use of bright colours in forest environments, it gives a good effect and it makes the image look like something out of a book or film which is great for my project as I'm basing it off of Alice in Wonderland.

Although the images colours are a bit too bright and contrasting for me I really like how it looks dark as if it's night but the night sky is purple or pink in this other "realm" this is an idea I would like to transition into my own work.

I really like this image as it is a great representation of the idea I have in my head, I really like the use of purples and blues in this image as they are vibrant colours used in a dark environment, I also like the fog as well which adds to the mystery of the image making it look like something out of a film or fairytale.

Research For My Story

After spending some more time on the internet and Pinterest looking through different things that can help with my project I found some really nice imagery that I can use for ideas towards my landscape and background designs for my project.

I like the design of this fan-made poster, the use of colour and effects is really good and can be used for my project, I like how the bat symbol in the bottom is pure white as if it were a stencil.

I really like this image as the focal point of the image has a plethora of colours and the image has a border within itself with the use of the trees, I like this style and has given me ideas to use for my project.

I really like the silhouetted style of this image, this has given me plenty of inspiration and ideas for my pop-up book and stop motion, I also like the use of white to highlight and add detail to the image.

I love the use of pale yet vibrant colours that really stand out, it gives the image a slight cold look to it but looks beautiful and is really effective, I will likely use a very similar combination of pale yet vibrant colours for my project as it looks really good.

Project Progress 2

So far I have made pages with research in them and explanation as to what I'm going to do for my project, I have also created plans so I know what to do each week in my sessions and created pages saying where I'd be sourcing my imagery from and what my ideas are. I've made good progress so far and gathered together some good ideas and plans for my project.

Project Progress

So far in the first few days of my project, based on Alice in Wonderland, I have made a good amount of progress, I have collected some research of what I want to do and some secondary imagery for ideas, I have also asked one of my friends to do some makeup for me as I need primary imagery of Alice, I will then use the photos she takes for more ideas and editing.

Game Salad

So I've been using Game Salad recently to create a small game with a few levels, I found it quite easy once I knew where things were and what certain things did, in fact I'd be quite confident in making my own full game in this software as it's a lot of fun and I could spend a lot of time creating and editing in there.

Some Ideas For My Project

I have chosen to do Story for my project, I want to use Alice in Wonderland as my inspiration as it is a fairytale that has multiple variations and is versatile when it comes to changing it and altering what things look like, I am thinking of doing a darker tone to the characters and making it a little Tim Burton-esque. Below are some images that I've selected that I'll be using for my primary source of ideas and inspiration.
